Community pharmacies across England are requested to complete the CPAF screening questionnaire every year as part of the updated Community Pharmacy Assurance Framework.
The results of this screening questionnaire, along with other locally held information such as any concerns that have been identified previously by regional teams, the Provider Assurance team or from other NHSBSA data, will help NHS England local teams to identify which pharmacies should be considered for a contract monitoring visit and asked to complete the full CPAF questionnaire. The screening questionnaire was available to all pharmacies to complete from Monday 3 June until Sunday 30 June 2019.
From 1st November 2019, some community pharmacies in England will be invited to complete the full Community Pharmacy Assurance Framework (CPAF) questionnaire, as part of the CPAF process for this year.
The full CPAF questionnaire is available on the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) website until Sunday 1st December 2019 for the selected pharmacies to complete.
In December 2019 NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I) will decide which pharmacies to visit as part of the CPAF process. A visit is more likely if a pharmacy has been selected to complete the full CPAF questionnaire and the completed questionnaire does not provide NHSE&I with sufficient assurances of compliance and quality under the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework. Visits are undertaken between January and March 2020.
