CPPE Online Workshops and Foundation Pharmacist Programme 2020/21

September 21, 2020

CPPE have released a list of online workshops for this semester (October – December), including COPD, Dementia, Deprescribing, EHC, Asthma, Consultation Skills, Medicines Optimisation in Care Homes, Mental Capacity Act, and NHS Community Pharmacist Consultation Service.

Full details and dates for these online workshops can be found here.

There are also some places available for CPPE’s Foundation Pharmacist Programme. The course has already started but they’re still accepting applications.

There are two parts to the HEE Interim foundation pharmacist programme (IFPP), part 1, Resources to support all provisionally registered pharmacists and part two, Educational support to develop a foundation portfolio of practice. The CPPE education pathway is included in part 2.

The CPPE foundation pharmacist programme is available for provisionally registered pharmacists (PRPs) who work in community pharmacy. Some employers, such as Boots, have their own internal programmes which will take priority over the CPPE programme and PRPs should use those rather than the CPPE programme.

The overall aim of the Foundation pharmacist programme 2020/21 is to support the 2019/20 cohort of pre-registration pharmacists, to develop and demonstrate competence in core areas of community pharmacy practice. Mapped to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Foundation Pharmacist Framework 2019, the programme is designed to support learners to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, behaviours, abilities, values, attitudes, beliefs and experience to deliver excellent patient care.

The 12-month, fully-funded programme takes a blended learning approach and offers a comprehensive mix of online learning activities, workshops, communities of practice, assessment and work-based support. It is a fantastic opportunity to have a supported education pathway for the first year of practice.
